Many of us find it easy to trust God when everything is working the way we want. When we pray and God answers, we trust Him even more. However, the opposite is true when we are facing tough times and our prayers seem unanswered. But is this what God wants from us? No, God wants us to trust Him in all circumstances. He wants us to believe in His power and even when the solution to our problems seems impossible. In Luke 1:37 the Bible says “For nothing will be impossible with God” God is a God who never fails; nothing is impossible through Him. This is what He wants His children to believe all the time.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
Why You Should Trust in God in All Circumstances
God’s Power is Limitless
We are called to trust in the Lord because He is not limited to circumstances, seasons, or anything else under the sun. There are so many things that we cannot do on our own, but they are possible when we involve God. Some are beyond logic and can only be solved with divine intervention. Therefore, when we face situations that are beyond our ability, we should not fret. Instead, let us trust that God will work them out because nothing is too hard for Him. Consider the story of Sarah who trusted in the Lord for a child despite being past child-bearing age. Her trust in God bore fruit and she bore the son of the promise, Isaac. God’s power was not limited to her age.
“And by faith, even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.”
Hebrews 11:11 NIV
God Works All Things Out for Our Good
In life, we encounter moments when we don’t understand why everything is happening. We find ourselves questioning God, and we tend to forget about His promises. In Romans 8:28, God calls us to believe that even though we may be going through tough times, He is working behind the scenes for a good course. His ways and thoughts are very different from ours, Isaiah 55:8-9. So, instead of trying to figure out things on our own, we should trust that He is working through them for our good. He can use the most painful experience to reveal His glory in our lives. Don’t stress yourself out in times of distress. Rather, just put your trust in God and He will do the rest.
God Has Good Plans for You
In Jeremiah 29:11, we are told that God’s plans are not meant to bring us harm but hope and prosperity. Even when we don’t see any ray of hope, we must trust that God is faithful enough to fulfill His promise.
Trusting in the Lord in all circumstances is not a walk in the park. It requires a heart that acknowledges our vulnerability and recognizes the sovereignty of God. We can portray our trust in God by casting our cares to Him through prayer. Additionally, we must also have faith in His promises and believe that He will come through for us no matter how long it takes.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8 NIV
[…] Trusting God involves a surrender of all our plans, personal ambitions, and heart desires to seek God’s will. It requires an acknowledgment that God is the Master Planner of our lives and everything we do must align with His perfect plan and will. When we do this, we will understand what God desires from us and we learn to be contented in whatever happens. […]
